Power of the Word!

When I first got saved, I heard older Christians say things like, " walking in the Spirit." Or " Standing on the Word of God!" Our lingo is odd but powerful! Someone once pulled off a shoe and took a slip of paper out and told me " I'm standing on the Word!" Lol. Well...that's not exactly what that means. And so I ask you....what are you believing God for?? And what is the source of power? Is it how much you believe?? Not exactly. Our power flows from the finished work of Christ on the Cross...released thru Faith...in the Word! Stay with me....I ask you again...if your believing for something...are you standing on the Word?? That means this. You read and understand Gods Word. Then the Holy Spirit "quickens" a promise. Or he makes it alive and real in your heart. Then you manifest that promise through Faith and perseverance. If you do this...the promises of God will NEVER fail you. If your not receiving answered prayer...maybe you should allow Holy Spirit to guide you to a scripture passage...speak it. Believe it. Meditate on it! Pray over it. Persevere with it!! STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD!! I hear many people tell me their believing God will heal them. I ask...what particular scripture are you standing on? Most people don't really know. Remember when Satan attacked Jesus he fought back with the Word!!!

I gave up many things to leave North Mississippi and plant a church after Hurricane Katrina. A home. Family...friends... a business. When I returned home after many years the Holy Spirit gave me this word to engage in spiritual warfare.

Mark 10:29-30New Living Translation (NLT)

29 “Yes,” Jesus replied, “and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and for the Good News, 30 will receive now in return a hundred times as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and property—along with persecution. And in the world to come that person will have eternal life.

The Word promised me that EVERYTHING I gave up pure hearted for the cause of the gospel...God would restore to me many times multiplied!! I want to publicly thank God as I'm seeing the manifestation of this promise come to pass in my life. I returned home weary and battle scared. But God gave me my home back. The EXACT same house sat empty 8 years waiting for me. Restored my family...I have many new friends that love God. My work is prospering....and God is using us in ministry and has much more in store!!! Even now we are humbly and thankfully being used of God to plant another church in Senatobia, Ms. My life scripture is Philippians 1;6 which teaches me that "what God starts, He always finishes! So as a church planter, Pastor and servant of the lord, I will always stand on His WORD, AND believe!

I stood on His Word! Without that...I would've faltered. ALL PRAISE AND GLORY TO GOD!!! The Bible says that everything that was created was created by the word of God. So if anything is going to come to pass in your life it must be through the word. So stand on God's word and believe in his promises and nothing can stop you! And don't be afraid to GIVE to God. He will owe no man anything. He always returns with a bountiful blessing!
