Whats going on, God??

Has God recently moved mightily in your life? Brought you out of and thru many trials? You were moving swiftly toward everything God promised...but then BAM. Everything stopped??? Listen up... This is for you!

17 And the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground, until all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan. (Joshua 3:17)

Joshua was swiftly moving toward the Promised Land! Everything that God had promised seemed right there within his grasp! But then, when he was right there almost ready to set his foot on the land that had been promised to Israel everything came to a screeching halt! God told him " when you get out in the middle of the river, just stop. And wait!"

Do you ever feel like everything you need and desire and God has promised is sitting right in front of you? So close but so far away? The priests who carried the Ark were ordered to stop and stand still right smack in the middle of the river. Today, all believers are priests and YOU are the Ark! The Presence of God is within Believers. Sometimes God says "STOP!"

There's several things going on here. 1. God wanted to work a miracle that everyone could see! While they were standing there the waters of the Jordan stop flowing in stood up in a heap and everyone saw it!

Sometimes God calls us to be still in order to do miracles in our lives

2. The priesthood stood still in order for all the people of Israel to pass over on to dry land

Sometimes God has things he's trying to accomplish all around us and all he asks us to do is be still and wait!

3. The priests were resting in his presence

When we find ourselves in this waiting. We are waiting with God in our midst. This is the time when God wants us to seek his face and pray and hear his voice! The priest did not take another single step until they specifically heard God tell them to do so!

4. God told them to build a pile of stone so that when everyone saw this they would remember his mighty power and miracles!

God can and will take these moments in our lives and allow us to look back and remember the deliverance that he brought in order to give us the strength and faith that we may need to face the next obstacles in our lives!

So... If you're standing still right now and everything that God has promised it's just right there in front of you. Be at peace and know that God is with you and do not take another single step until he tells you! Let us trust and know that EVERY SINGLE STEP WE TAKE IS ORDERED BY THE LORD!!! Remember when God told them OK go on and move forward...He went before them to possess the land!! So don't rush along when Gods wanting you to stop and hang out for awhile!!
